Its been over 2 years and I've been continuously upgrading. I finally came to a point where I felt like I was at a new revision. I took the motherboard out of the dash, it runs much cooler now and I'm experiencing ZERO lockups.

Components (so far)

  • VIA EPIA-SP 13000 Motherboard and CPU (New March 2006)
  • 512 MB Ram
  • 80 GB 3.5" Western Digital HDD 7200 RPM 8MB Buffer
  • Lilliput 7..0" VGA LCD with USB Touchscreen
  • Opus 90W DC Power Supply (For motherboard, HDD & LCD)
  • Opus 80W DC Power Supply (For everything else)
  • SMC 7 Port USB Hub
  • GlobalStat BR-355 USB GPS (SiRF III Chipset)
  • Linksys WUSB54G USB 802.11G
  • LiteOn 24X External USB Slim Combo Drive
  • USB Audigy 2 NX Sound Card
  • US Acoustics USB-4065 4 Channel Audio Amp
  • Infinity 652i Speakers in front doors
  • MB Quart DKE110 Speakers in rear doors
  • EL-610 Zippy EL Keyboard
  • Casetronic Cubid 2677-Black Case

I put the PC under the passenger's seat, on top of the amp.

The USB sound card is under there also, for easy access.

I have the keyboard and Combo drive in the glove box, along with my switches, 2 USB ports and 2 Firewire ports.

In the dash, I have the LCD, an 80W Opus for more power (USB 5.0V) and a 7 port USB hub that I hacked - modified it for external power only.  I also have a couple of relays for controlling the power to the LCD and the USB hub.

Also, not shown I have my wifi and GPS in the dash.

For software, I'm running Frodoplayer (Front end - shown above) and iGuidance (GPS)
